I don’t know about you guys, but when I start cutting the same thing over and over eventually I end up miscutting something. It never fails! I’ll be looking through my stack of finished blocks and there will be that one that’s an inch too short on one side.
I hate having go dig out fabric I already put away to recut just one block!
Here’s a little trick I like to use to make sure I cut all my blocks to the right size: I’ll put a little piece of tape on my quilting ruler just outside of the line I need.
That way when my brain eventually shuts off I won’t have to think about what line I’m supposed to be measuring to! It’s saved me from having to recut so many blocks.
Just remember to remove the tape when you’re done or you’ll end up with some sticky residue on your ruler.
