It’s done! It’s finally done!
My Summer Brilliance pattern is now available!
It’s ready just in time for summer, and doesn’t this just seem like the perfect summer quilt?
The pattern comes in four different sizes: baby, throw, twin and queen, and uses the 8 at a time technique for making half square triangles (don’t worry if you don’t know how, detailed instructions are included with the pattern).
This first quilt was made in baby size (42″ x 54″). I used Kona solid colors Tangerine, Orange, Sunny, Citrus, Sunflower, Lake, Water, Pacific, and Royal. I love how bright and cheery it is!

It was backed with a large piece of fabric I hand dyed using my Shibori tie dye sun technique.

I also made a second quilt in an alternate color scheme.

This one was throw size (56″ x 72″). I was going for a lake look, but I’m not sure how well that really came off. I do like the colors together though!

Here I used Kona Pacific, Malibu, Water, Niagara, Sky, Sand, Grasshopper, Jungle, and Forest.
I don’t typically go for florals, but I absolutely love this print for the back! It’s a wide fabric from Studio E called Watercolor Meadow Digital and the colors matched perfectly with the quilt top.

I went basic for the quilting on both, following the basic block pattern and sewing an X inside each block. Sometimes simple is the best solution.

To test out your color scheme before buying fabric I’ve included a color sheet.

If you have kids you might want to print off a couple extra because it makes a pretty awesome color by number as well!
